November 2016 Goals
Another new series I’ve decided to implement on my blog is creating a goals post at the beginning of each month. It’s my hope that by setting monthly goals, I can hold myself accountable and manifest these things into reality!
Blogging/Business Related Goals
Hit 1,000 Followers on Instagram
Since I’ve started being way more active on the platform as well as engaging with others on there, I’ve had a huge increase in followers. On the morning of Nov.1st, I hit 600 followers! 1,000 might seem like a lot, but I think if I work hard enough, I can get there!
If you like beautiful, bright photos with lots of pink and white, as well as food and quotes, you should definitely follow me!
Have at least Three Design Clients this Month
If you didn’t know, I’m also a graphic designer for bloggers and small biz owners. My services include logos, sidebar/call-to-action buttons, social media covers, and more. And now, I’m about to add more services, such as virtual assisting; as well as other a la carte items, such as Pinterest covers, Instagram templates, etc.
I have pre-made logo packages for $59, and custom services start at $199. If you’re interested, you can view my design website here and send me an email by clicking “Design Inquiry.”
Have at least Three Photography Clients this Month
I initially went into business as a photographer, but this business has been sort of slow. I think it’s mainly due to it being almost the holidays and people are probably spending money for that instead. However, I won’t let that discourage me! I will be attending a networking event later this month, so I hope this will connect me to more people.
Add More Printables to My Etsy Shop
I have plenty of designs I’ve sketched in my sketch book, but now I need to create them and upload them. I’ve currently only added one (the “Home Sweet Home” printable below), and here’s the link to purchase it. If you’d like some free printables, you can get one here (Biblical quote) and here (non-Biblical quote).
Create More Fashion Posts
This is sort of a personal goal as well. I struggle with self-confidence due to the weight I’ve put on. I didn’t even realize how much weight I gained until I tried on one of my favorite dresses, and the back of it was a little higher than usual (#BigButtProblems)! But I know if I work with the right photographer, they can capture me at the best angles. (I usually “hire” my mom, but there’s always a lot of blurry shots to sift through. God bless her!) I’m just really self-conscious about the new weight around my face. It took a lot of strength to post this selfie on Halloween (and a lot of time to find the right angle to hide my chin!).
Lose 10 pounds
Can y’all believe I used to be a size double-0?! That was before the freshman 15, though, and eating my feelings after some things I went through. But that’s a post for another day. I want to say I should lose 30, but I know there’s so much you can lose in one month with almost dying. I’m going to attempt exercising at least twice per day (in the morning when I wake up and again in the evening). But at the least, I will be exercising in the evening.
I’m working on cutting down my soda and candy. I was able to go a week without soda! But it was sooo hard, so I relapsed. I’m going to try again, but this time maybe I’ll find other things to drink that are healthier (smoothies, juice that’s actually juice, etc.). As for the candy, I told myself ONE piece a day. It’s very hard to resist those snack sizes, but I know when I start counting calories again, it will be easy to resist them! The last time I lost weight, it was due to counting calories AND exercising.
Work on Overcoming My Shyness
As mentioned earlier, I’ll be attending a networking event for business professionals. My shyness stems from my anxiety, which is pretty much an everyday struggle for me. So I hope I’ll be able to step out my comfort zone that night. I’m going to get all dolled up and armed with professionally-printed business cards, so that should help!
Side note: Maybe I’ll meet my bae as well because after all, it is “cuffing season” according to my Facebook friends!
Work on Overcoming My Perfectionism
I took one hour yesterday trying to get the perfect picture for Instagram and writing a caption for it. I ended up hating it, so I deleted and started over. That is waaay more time than I should spend on an Instagram photo. Here’s the photo I posted yesterday:
Continue Growing My Relationship With God
This is an everyday, all-year thing that is NEVER complete if you’re a Christian. There is no plateau for having a relationship with God, and it’s something I’m always working on improving. I’m sad to admit I don’t talk to God every day, so I definitely need to work on that. I also need to add reading the Bible EVERYDAY to my schedule. There’s no such thing as “not having time for God” because He always has time for us. So I ‘m currently searching for a Bible study guide I can follow along. If you know a good one, leave me a link below!
